Takasugi Shinsaku

He was an imperial loyalist born in Yamaguchi pref. He studied at Shokasonn-zyuku (松下村塾：a private school established by Syoin Yoshida (吉田松陰) ).
He formed platoon called Kihei-tai(奇兵隊) and took a leading place in Sonno Joi (尊王攘夷: the movement advocating reverence for the Emperor and expulsion of foreigners).
He died of disease at the young age of 29.
