Kano Syoei

He was a Kano school painter, the 3rd son of Motonobu Kano (狩野元信). His brother died early so Syoei succeeded the head of family. He participated in the creation of the screen painting pf Hongan-ji temple (本願寺) and Daitoku-ji temple (大徳寺). Syoei had received far less than his father and son. However, recently the research on Syoei has progressed and the valuation of his works is on the ride.
