Kano Eitoku

1543～1590
He was a Kano school painter, grandson of Motonobu Kano (狩野元信). Eitoku gained the trust of the authorities including Nobunaga Oda (織田信長) and Hideyoshi Toyotomi (豊臣秀吉), and consolidated the position of Kano school. He showed his best in the production of screen paintings. There are many documents about his activities but many of his works were destroyed.
