Domoto Insho
1891〜1975
He was a Japanese-style painter born in Kyoto. After he graduated from Kyoto City specialist School of Painting, he studied under Suisho Nishiyama (西山翠嶂). He drew mainly Buddhist paintings and Fusuma-e (襖絵: paintings on sliding door covered with thick paper). He was active in Tei-ten (帝展: the Japanese art academy exhibition) .
After World WarⅡ. He studied Abstract expressionism.
