Kogetsu Sogan

1574〜1643
He was a Zen monk born in Osaka. His father was the tea master and wealthy merchant, SogyuTsuda (津田宗及). Kogan did ascetic training under Soen Syunoku (春屋宗園) and succeeded the teachings of Soen. Then Kogan entered Daitoku-ji temple(大徳寺) and became the 156th head monk.
