He was a painter in Edo period. He was a pupil of Maruyama Oukyo (円山応挙). His style of painting was freewheeling different from other pupils of Oukyo. He went to Nanki area (now Wakayama pref.) and drew a wall painting at Muryo-ji temple (無量寺) in 1786.
