He was a painter born Edo (now Tokyo). He went to Nagasaki pref. and studied under Yuhi (熊斐). Also, he studied under a Chinese painter, Shigan Sou (宋紫岩). The Chinese character, “宋” in Siseki's name came from Sigan Sou. He spread the art style of Chin Nanpin (沈南蘋).
