He was a painter. There is a different opinion on his birth place and the year his death. It has been said he moved to Osaka from Hyogo. After that, he served the Todo domain(藤堂藩). About painting, he studied Chinese ancient painting and drew landscape painting. His son, Hanko (半江) was active as a painter too.
