Kurokawa Kigyoku

1732～1756
He was a painter born in Edo (now Tokyo). He was talented from a young age. He studied Chinese painting under Kyushin Kano (狩野休真).Also, he was strongly influenced Shen Quan (沈南蘋). However, it is said Kigyoku didn’t like Quan’s delicate painting and established his own style.
