He was a monk of Nichiren sect (日蓮宗), composer of Chinese poem, and poet. Originally he was a samurai. He was called “Fukakusa Gansei” because he lived in Fukukasa, Kyoto. He founded Zuiko-ji temple(瑞光寺).
