Hugai Ekun

1568〜1654
He was a monk of Soto-sect (曹洞宗) and painter from Gunma pref. He practiced ascetic training in Jogan-zi temple(成願寺). Then he became a temple master. He drew many painting of Daruma (達磨) and Hotei(布袋) It is said that he ordered to dig a hole for himself and died like tree.
