Hanaoka Seishu

1760〜1835
He was a surgeon born in Wakayama pref. He was the first surgeon who succeeded in operation for breast cancer using general anesthesia. He had been wanted to save sick or injured persons since he was young. He studied medicine in Kyoto when he was 23. He studied for 3 years and then he went back to his hometown.
