Okutani Syuseki

1871〜1936
He was a Japanese style painter born in Osaka. He studied the brushwork of Maruyama-Shijo school under Kansai Mori (森寛斉). Syuseki passed the technique that he studied to his pupils and made efforts to cultivate painters. He was one of the painter who represented the Kyoto art world.
