Kobayashi Issa

1763〜1827
He was a haiku poet born in Nagano pref. He went to Edo (now Tokyo) when at the age 14 and studied haiku. He traveled around Japan. In his later life, he backed home to Nagano. He was very prolific. The number of his haiku is more twenty thousand.
