Kino Kosei

1777〜1839
He was a Japanese-style painter born in Kyoto. He studied painting under Gosyun (呉春). After Gosyun died, Hironari got tired of competition among pupils and started to paint Buddhist painting. In his later life, he strongly believed in Buddhism and practiced austerities.
