Hishida Syunso
1874~1911
He was born in Nagano pref. He studied under Masaaki Yuki (結城正明). Then he studied at Tokyo School of Fine Arts(東京美術学校). He was active as a leading painter of the school. He tried to use a painting technique named “Moro-tai” (朦朧体) with Taikan Yokoyama(横山大観). Moro (朦朧) means obscurely. After he made a trip to India and Europe and the United State, he set out to blend realism and decoration.
