Suzuki Shonen
1848~1918
He was a painter born in Kyoto. He was known for the first master of Syoen Uemura (上村松園). His works were dynamic and he called “a second Kenpaku Soga” (曽我蕭白: a painter active in Edo era ). He founded “小春会” with Kansai Mori (森寛斉), Aizan Taniguchi (谷口藹山), Chikudo Kishi (岸竹堂), and Gyokusen Mochizuki (望月玉泉). They engaged in research Japanese ancient painting.
