Syokei

He was an artist monk active in Muromachi era. He worked as clerical at Kencho-ji temple (建長寺) in Kamakura. It is said that he went to Kyoto in 1480 and studied painting under Geiami (芸阿弥) for 3 years. Also, he studied painting from the Chinese paintings were in the possession of Shogun.
