Kano Naonobu
fuji and saigyo
Artist
1602~1650
He was a Kano school painter, the second son of Takanobu Kano (狩野孝信).Takanobu died when Naonobu was 12 so he studied under his uncle’s pupil, Koui Kano(狩野興以). Naonobu succeeded the head of family because his older brother, Tanyu, moved to Edo. Naonobu built the groundwork of Kobikicho Kano Family (木挽町狩野家). He died at the young age of 44 so the number of his works is small.
