He was born in Nagoya. His father was a carver. He did not take over the family business and took up painting. He was supported by wealthy merchant, Tennyu Kamiya(神谷天遊) and allow him to study. During the time, he met Chikudo Nakabayashi(中林竹洞) They went to Kyoto in1802. They duplicated old paintings in the temples to develop their skills. Then, Baiitsu returned to Nagoya. However, he went to Kyoto in 1832. He is known for gorgeous flower and bird painting. (花鳥画)
