He was a painter born in Ise. It is said he had interact with Taiga Ike (池大雅) but it is not sure. He was one of the pioneer in the study of Chinese painting. Also, he published many picture books including “Sekiho Gaketsu” (石圃画訣) and “Sekiho Gokansyu” (石圃娯観集).
